Blocked Toilets
A toilet overflowing or gurgling needs a fast response. We clear the pan and the line behind it, then check what caused the blockage so it stays clear.
Streets laid out near Banyo railway station still carry earthenware branch drains that trap silt, so call (07) 3067 4107 for blocked drains, toilets, sewers and stormwater help.
If we're late, $100 comes off your bill
One call covers the lot: all six drain services are below.

A toilet overflowing or gurgling needs a fast response. We clear the pan and the line behind it, then check what caused the blockage so it stays clear.

Sewage smells or a slow main line point to the sewer. We clear the line between your property drain and the Urban Utilities main, then explain what we found.

Yard gullies and stormwater pits that fill after rain get cleared and checked, so the next downpour heads down the pipe instead of across the yard.

Kitchen, bathroom and laundry fixtures, shower wastes and floor drains cleared with an electric eel or jet blasting, whichever the pipe and the blockage suit.

A camera through the line shows the cause, the depth and the exact spot, so you decide on repairs with the full picture rather than a guess.

Cracked, root-damaged or collapsed pipes get dug up and replaced, or relined where that suits, with the quote settled before the first shovel goes in.

Local Banyo Blocked Drains is the blocked drain service for Banyo, Boondall and Nudgee. We clear blocked toilets, sewer and stormwater lines, and slow sinks and showers.
Who we work for. Most homes here are detached houses, many owner-occupied with mortgages, and a fair share sit on earthenware drains laid before PVC. Being locally owned and operated, we know that ground, and we quote the job up front.

The station streets were subdivided back in the 1880s and 1920s, and plenty of their branch lines are still earthenware. That old pipe has shifted in the waterlogged ground, and every dip it has developed is a spot where silt settles and builds.
Protected waterway and wetland plants grow thick along Nundah Creek and beside the golf course, and those root systems hunt out the yard drains of the nearest blocks.
Council maps most of the suburb as acid sulfate soil on the flats between the creek and the Kedron Brook floodway. Acidic groundwater sits close to the surface there, and it works away at old pipe joints year after year.
Houses from before 1947 near the station, on Froude, Musgrave and Gold Streets, may still run galvanised pipe that a later repair joined to copper, and wherever those dissimilar metals meet is where a leak starts.

Drain backing up right now? Three quick checks:

Most blockages announce themselves before the overflow. Watch for these four:
air trapped behind a partial blockage, usually in the main line.
the shared line is partly blocked downstream.
stormwater running backwards, common on the low streets near the creek.
a cracked or root-damaged pipe leaking into the soil.

No hourly rate guesswork: the figure is settled before work begins. What moves it:
an outside gully close to the boundary is quicker work than a line buried under a bathroom floor.
deep old earthenware in soggy ground takes longer to reach than shallow modern pipe.
grease and silt shift fast, while a tangle of roots or a fallen-in section means more time on the tools.
if the blockage returns or the cause is unclear, a CCTV inspection shows exactly what is going on.
One thing we will tell you straight: a blockage in the water authority's main is not ours to fix. That line belongs to Urban Utilities, and we point you to them rather than quote for work that is theirs.

This suburb sits low between two waterways, and that shapes drain work more than anything else. Council's mapped February 2022 flood extent covers all of Fairway Place and parts of Hatfield Street, Gaynor Road, Ludgate Street, Elliott Road and Tufnell Road.
When Nundah Creek rises, stormwater pipes on those streets can push water backwards into gully traps. Thunderstorms roll in through the warm, humid months between November and March, and that is when it happens.
Council also maps sheet runoff crossing Mellifont Street, Langton Street and Royal Parade. If your gully brims after every storm, the answer is usually about levels and capacity, not just a clean-out.
Four steps, the same every time, whether it is a toilet, a sewer or a stormwater line.

On (07) 3067 4107, run through which fixtures are slow, gurgling or overflowing, so the plumber on the way knows where to start.

How easy the pipe is to reach, how deep it sits, what it is made of and what is blocking it all shape the quote, which is settled before a tool comes out of the van.
Ring early and a plumber is usually at your Banyo drain before the day is out, though we never promise it sight unseen.
Everything inside your boundary up to the connection point is yours to keep clear, while the sewer main under the street is Urban Utilities territory.
Wet wipes, paper towel, fats and oils, coffee grounds and sanitary items do most of the damage, so they belong in the bin, not the drain.
A CCTV inspection sends a small camera through the line and shows on screen whether the culprit is silt build-up, root growth or a broken joint.
Ring (07) 3067 4107, say which fixtures are slow or noisy, and we will sort out a visit and talk through the job before anything starts.
